Oh for crying out loud. During his interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump once again put his boundless ignorance on stark display by claiming that “there’s a big difference between DACA and DREAMers.” The transcript, as an image:
No, you swirling vortex of stupidity, there is not a big difference between the two. DACA is a program to defer deportation for the group called DREAMers, immigrants who were brought here illegally by their parents when they were young children and have grown up here and done everything right. The DREAM Act stands for the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act. It would apply, if passed, to those who came to America before they were 16 and are between 18 and 35 at the time of its passage.
DACA is Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, President Obama’s policy of deferred action. It was an executive action in lieu of the passage of the DREAM Act and it did the very same thing and applied to the very same people. The DREAM Act, if and when it passes, would have made DACA unnecessary and obsolete because they did the exact same thing.
The man is a black hole from which nothing true or intelligent ever escapes. He’s like the Dunning-Kruger effect sprung to life. He thinks he knows everything and he knows almost nothing about any subject, but that doesn’t stop him from spouting off nonsense with total confidence.
